How to make a faux fur fox tail key chain

Fox tail's are in, in fashion today. You can buy real fox tails or a fake one made out of faux fur. In my opinion I think fake ones are better. Fox tails real or fake can cost from $26 dollars to hundreds. So if you don't want to spend the money on one, you can make one yourself.

What you need is: furry fabric, needle, thread, scissors, stuffing, circle finding, pliers, cardboard, sharpie, and a clip finding.

First draw a a fox tail shape onto a piece of cardboard, like in the picture.

You are going to want an 1nch or 2 extra all along the sides for sewing.

After drawing your tail you will need to cut the shape of the tail out of the cardboard.

Then lay your faux fur down, with with furry part down.

Then you will cut along the side of the cardboard. You will have to do this twice for both sides.

Now you can pin the two sides together so that when you sew it, it wont move out of place. You can use needles or safety pins. You will want to sew it wrong side out so make sure both furry sides are facing each other

You can use a sewing machine or sew by hand. Put the thread through the needle or put it on your sewing machine. If you are sewing by hand, you will want to put the thread trough the needle then double the string by putting the needle in the middle of your thread and tie the two ends of the thread together.

Sew at least an inch or two from the edge. Now don't sew the whole thing shut, leave a little hole so you can put the right side out. After you put it inside out, you can put some stuffing in. For a foxtail you are not going to want a lot of stuffing.

After putting in the stuffing you can finish sewing it.

Once done sewing it, you will need another needle and tread to sew the circle finding on. It would be better to put the clip finding on the circle finding first. Just put it on and use pliers to close the circle finding.

After you get that done put the needle through the top round part of the fox tail. Like the dot shown in the picture.

Put the needle and thread through the fox tail, and instead of putting the needle and thread back through the fox tail on the other side, put the needle and thread through the circle finding and then back through the fox tail.

Keep doing that for a while so you get a good hold on the circle finding.

Walah now you are finished and you have your very own fox tail key cahin. You can wear it on your jeans or put it on your purse, whatever you like.
